Below is a list of U.S. medical schools that still use live animals to teach basic concepts in human physiology, pharmacology, and/or surgery. More than 90 percent of all United States medical schools, including Harvard, Stanford, and Yale, have eliminated these old-fashioned laboratories in favor of modern, cost-effective and humane alternatives.
